PEACOCKS or male peacocks
Peacocks are large, colorful pheasants typically blue and green feathers animals.Peacocks are a species of birds. Peacocks are ground-feeders that eat insects, plants, and small creatures. There are two familiar peacock species, green peacocks and blue peacocks.Both sexes of all species have a crest on the top of head.They can be testy and do not mix well with other domestic birds.The peacock "tail", known as a "train", consists of tail quill feathers. These feathers are marked with eyespots, best seen when a peacock fans his tail.Colors of the tails feathers look different every time when you change the angle of looking because of the reflection of the light. Tail makes 60% of peacock's total length. Males have evolved a variety of different display components to increase the chance of winning a female's attention.Some studies suggest that the intricacy of the "song" produced by displaying peacocks proved to be impressive to peafowl.Peacocks and peahens can live in the wild for up to 20 years.They fly and hide in the trees. They spend nights on trees for the same reason.Male peafowl is called peacock while female is called peahen.
PEAHENS or female peacock
Peafowl are forest birds that nest on the ground, but roost in trees.Peafowl are omnivores and eat most plant parts, flower petals, seed heads, insects and other arthropods, reptiles, and amphibians. They actively hunt insects like ants, crickets and termites; millipedes; and other arthropods and small mammals. Females are believed to choose their mates according to the size, color, and quality of these outrageous feather trains.Technically, only males are peacocks. Females are peahens, they are called peafowl.Peafowl is a species of birds.The green peafowl differs from the blue peafowl in that the male has green and gold plumage with black wings with a sheen of blue. Unlike the blue peafowl, the green peahen is similar to the male, only having shorter upper tail coverts, a more coppery neck, and overall less iridescence.
Domestic peafowl may also eat bread and cracked grain such as oats and corn, cheese, cooked rice and sometimes cat food. As well as vegetables including dark leafy greens, broccoli, carrots, beans, beets, and peas. They also relish many fruits.
PEA CHICKS or babies of peacocks
Typically, peafowl mature and are ready to breed at approximately two years of age.Peacock eggs are about three times the size of chicken eggs.The mother lays usually 4-6 eggs in a short period in spring.It takes between 26 and 30 days for a peacock egg to hatch., After 28 days of incubation, the peacock eggs hatch, the nest of peafowl can be hidden in the woods, in leaves, sometimes in dirt.Peacock babies are yellow and brown, and all wings.Peacock babies need to learn how to eat.When the little babies are only days old, the mother of babies decides to teach them flying and sitting on trees.Babies make noise.Their mother teach them eating and flying.They are called pea chicks.
